Word’s - aren’t they Great?? Even the word ‘word,’ is cool. Light, in Hebrew – Ohr, is contained in the word, ‘Word.’ One understanding is that the ‘o, r’ in ‘word’ IS literally - ’light!’ Of course the spelling is slightly different – there is a (silent) ‘h’ between the o and the r but: Ohr = Light.
It is no accident that we are addicted to talking, love to write, are facinated with letters, numbers, words – their importance, and their significance – actual and in potential… Some say words – made up of letters, make up the world(s.) Letters go WAY back. Back to before time – to the very root of our existence. As well, many important words contain their meaning AND if they act as an anagram, the anagram often works in many languages!

Take the word Universe. If you break it down you get U, as in ‘You,’ N’, as in ‘and,’ I, as in ‘I,’ and Verse. The word verse alludes to interpretations by way of poetry, song, music… Music often being referred to as a ‘key’ to the Universe… (‘Key!!’)

Also, the word verse is an anagram for serve. So if you take Universe – as is, you get: U N’ I Verse… As in, you and I (are a key to the) verse – (song, story,) and are connected at a very high level.

Or, Universe could be written: U N’ I Serve… As in, You and I Serve -service being a possible ‘key’ to the Universe: An integral part of the whole?
What about this: Uni – One, Verse – Word – One Word. Could the (one) word ‘Universe’ contain the (whole) answer to the question regarding the meaning, function and purpose of our existence?

How about the words ‘Heart,’ ‘Live,’ ‘Time?’ … Anagrams for: ‘Earth,’ ‘Evil,’ ‘Emit’… to ‘name’ a few.

Let’s not forget the (special) word: ’Abra Cadabra.’ An Aramaic word of Semitic origin – thought by many to be a supposed magical incantation that loosely translates to: “I (will) create as I speak.”. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abracadabra)

Evolution. First, let's take a quick look at the definition, as we commonly believe the word to mean according to Wikipedia: "Evolution is the change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms through successive generations. After a population splits into smaller groups, these groups evolve independently and may eventually diversify into new species. ... Evolution is the product of two opposing forces: processes that constantly introduce variation in traits, and processes that make particular variants become more common or rare. A trait is a particular characteristic, such as eye color, height, or a behavior, that is expressed when an organism's genes interact with its environment, translating its genotypic predispositions into phenotypic phenomena. ..." Now let's look at the word 'evolution,' root word: Evolve... Notice the word evol ve... evol is an anagram for the word 'love,' and if you spell it evol with a space between the l and the 2nd v, you have the word 'love,' backwards AND forward: evol_ve! Imagine that the word 'evolve' is 'love' reversed and in potential - stating and containing it's meaning! Maybe this is a huge clue to the operation of this world and it's probable oppositeness to actual Reality... Maybe we just have to create the 'missing' 'O' by evolving into conscious connection with others, thereby completing a process of becoming One. That's what cells do to become and organ(s) / body...

What about 'Evolution according to The Zohar?' The evolution of humanity, in a nutshell, is predetermined. This does not mean that we are not completely invovled in the journey. We are. The journey and the destination are connected, of course, but the answers can appear to be different. To clarify: The destination is an unknowable place, but regardless of the way we go, we will get there. Our attitude in which we approach the path to the destination is what is most important and this is where we have influence.

Human evolution is headed in the direction of a new beginning - whatever that may mean - as opposed to a destructive 'end of all.' Like REM say: 'It's the end of the world AS WE KNOW IT...' We are destined to fall into our role as we were intended, and in accordance with nature. Nature is (obviously) much larger than us, and there is no way to 'beat' it. Sometimes it seems as though that is what our race has been about: trying to beat Nature. Add to that the phenomenon that we seem be the only race that does not co-operate with nature, and we arrive in the mess that we are all trying our best to exist in. We all say we want the same things but somehow we think we are able to have all AND exclude others... That doesn't even make any sense. The fact is: We all get what we want for each other. Think about that and then consider it in relation to evolution. That is, evolution is much more than physical genes that adapt, mutate, change - or not. Evolution includes everything and is subject to nature, as are all other species of life.

This is the source of our collective suffering - our flawed thinking that we should do only for ourselves. Our race will evolve to it's expected desination, regardless of 'how' and in spite of our idea's and opinions about how things 'should' be. We will be as nature means us to be - in the beginning.

Having said this - the way to the inevitable new beginning is a choice that we may make and it is a choice that we have been making - unconsciously. It is now time to make conscious choice. It seems clear that if we begin to accept nature as a structure to be integrated with, that we will have an smoother time getting to our destination. Most people feel, at some level, that the old way is actually 'done' and that if we continue to believe in the lies of this world, we will continue to grow our fear, terror, suffering etc., until we become what we are meant to be - according to our specified place in the universe - the (very) hard way!

A great question is: "Are we ready to finally fit into the existing and already perfect system - that we may collectively embrace our destiny to become Human?" I think so!

Right now we appear below the level of animal. Animals are in tune with nature, we are not. Animals rely on physical traits that we have seemingly given up, such as their instincts, we generally do not. The apparent difference between animals and humans is obvious: we can speak in relatively developed and more complex languages than our primate friends. (Of course this, in itself, does not make us human but it does appear as a difference.) We have not learned 'how' to speak yet, and I mean this sincerely. For example if we learned how to use the gift of speech, we would be very cautious with our words. Not only that, our collective belief system would become more focused and stronger. Our world is a result of our beliefs which currently that adds up to chaos. Imagine if we learned how to actualize the tool of speech - for the good of all??

That said: what can destroy us, flipped or reversed, (just like the word 'evol_ve' implies,) may be our potential to save / change our path to the destination. If enough of us stop allowing the small details of our distracting lives to side track us and we acquire a desire to truly want a different world - this is enough to change our path to the end - which is our new beginning. 'The end,' remains as previously determined but the way to the end is in our desire and our attitude toward this world.

Are you ready to reach beyond the dead end that we call life? Look at us. Like it or not we are connected. Right now we are connected through money (or lack of,) work, the internet, etc. We are all in one big soup - together. So, if we have an opportunity to consciously accept that we are connected and we begin to learn to use our minds - with conscious thought - to our ability, the illusion that we are living will drop away and Reality will be revealed. All we have to do is use our resources, listen to our inner life, begin to reconnect with nature, drop the connections that are toxic, and want a new world. How do you want to evol_ve?

Remember that song, from 1979? Sister Sledge I think. Anyway, it really caught on - it not only had a catchy beat but there was something about the lyrics that when people sang along, they all seemed to shift into a relaxed state. People started to dance and smile...

It is the same whenever someone contacts any truth. It is known for what it is - true.

This video, has nothing to do with the 1979 hit song - and it has everything to do with it. It represents truth. They've used very simple but effective approach to show our real connection. I especially love that there is no naration or words spoken. (Plus I am hugely into drumming!)

The Duality Of The Light And The Desire

This is an exceptional post from laitman.com ... I'm sure many have heard the saying: "What came first, the chicken or the egg?" I would say that Laitman's description of the Duality of the Light and the Desire is not less than profound!

It is written that everything depends on the desire. On the other hand, everything is created by the Light, and the desire is just an imprint of the Light. So how can this be?

The fact is that sometimes Kabbalah speaks from the Light’s point of view, and sometimes from the Kli’s. We shouldn’t forget that this duality is always present. We never talk about the Light separately from the desire, or about the desire separately from the Light. We talk about the desire which feels the Light as it changes form. The desire calls these forms, “Light.”

One form relative to another is called the Light against the Kli. The Kli of the Upper One in relation to the Kli of the lower one is considered the Light. We are talking about qualities that are relative. The Upper One is one that bestows more, and is therefore called Light relative to the lower one. The lower one is the one that receives more and is therefore called the vessel or Kli.

We are accustomed to vessels that are metallic or glass, and which are filled by something. But in spirituality this is completely not the case. The quality of bestowal, which exists inside the vessel, is called Light. The quality of reception is the Kli. But all of this are qualities of the desire. We are always talking about the desire alone, and about its ascents and descents. Its higher forms are called Light, and its lower forms are called Kli. Therefore the Creator (Boreh) is called Bo-Reh (come and see). It’s because we see Him inside our own Kli. The form of bestowal that is imprinted inside the Kli is called Light, the Creator.

These are very important concepts because they correct us in the right direction, in order for us to cross the veil and enter the spiritual world by learning to relate to our desires correctly. They are all just different forms of reception and bestowal.

How to be Successful...

Today I had dinner with my son and a couple of his friends who are university students. They sat there and identified that the main problem with the world is 'self interest.' They discussed how people don't seem to even know how to co-operate anymore. As well, they defined egoism, saw themselves in it, and clearly, they understand the depth of the problem.

Their plan is to stay is school and redefine the education system from the inside out - while hoping that all see and want a new society which is based on altruism...

Then I read this article on success and thought I'd share it here.

Excerpts: 'The rules for how to be successful in today's world are different to those of yesterday. The rules of success have changed from competitive ones to cooperative ones.'

...

'In the past, people learned how to be successful according to the Darwinian principle, known to most by the phrase “survival of the fittest.” ... one had to be stronger, smarter, faster, or more cunning than another, and achieve their success at another’s expense.'

...

Today, a different principle for how to be successful is at work: successful people are those who work together with others.'

...

'The moment people will begin to understand the rules of success pertaining to living in accordance with this law of nature, the world’s situation will improve on all levels – personal, social and global. And according to Kabbalah, as soon as people begin cooperating, nature will provide its support.'

Prom Night or Prison Night?

Last night was prom night for my youngest... WOW, a lot changes in 2 years. My daughters prom was all about being a princess for the night. She planned it for months and it cost me dearly. The dress, the hair, the make up, ½ the hotel room... Hundreds of dollars for one night. (Luckily her date bought the tickets and paid for the limo!) Was it worth it? Absolutely, no question - YES! She had the time of her life! All her friends were there saying good bye, crying, hugging, - all the while looking perfect.

Last night was almost the opposite. I chipped in for the tickets, helped with new socks, a bow tie and the corsage for my son's date and his 1/4 of the limo cost. Still - hundreds of dollars. They arrived and their night began with a body search - I guess for booze. There was a wall of security, staff, police and teachers. Some kids were given 'random' breathalysers. All were let in. Dinner was mediocre. The dancing was ok BUT they had a choice of being inside the whole night and being treated as prisoners - or going home... That's right, they were not allowed to go out for air, a cigarette, a smooch - if they went out, they were considered gone (home.)

Later in the night, it seemed the security had lightened, so a couple of the kids went out for a smoke. When they tried to return, they were escorted to the door. My son explained he had to tell the other couple that they had to leave and the 'lady' went with him. When he stopped to talk to his friend about their early departure, she grabbed his arm and pulled him. He demanded that she release him and called for the manager. He wanted her charged with unnecessary force, which amounts to assault in any other situation. The manager apologized and so did she but... Talk about adults looking for trouble at the expense of youth.

He and his girlfriend made the best of it and despite the overage in the adult 'authority' department, they made it good. Luckily they had a party to go to afterward... Otherwise the whole night would have been a total bust.

My point? Why not organize your kid and their best friends - dressed to the 9's, a taxi or 3, a fine dining restaurant, and a club for them to really say good bye. They can drink, kiss, cry, hug, have a good meal, be safe and mostly be treated a human. If these big convention places go under they can attribute it to their unruly behavior towards their guests. I guess they forget the next generation is who supports their establishments.

Had I known this was the situation, I never would have granted the money for this event. Enough is enough! I can't support a society that refuses to allow children to grow up - any longer... Can you? I find this essay a possible solution!

Corporate America - Wake up!

Are we finally ready for a complete media revamp?? We are only going to survive if we can receive the necessary education for our current requirements.

The media and advertisers are in a position to move this message out. AND, they should be ready also. Why? Because they are no longer making money. I keep wondering when some (great) executive will realize that the old school - doom and gloom style of reporting (real or made up,) is not working any longer. The formula and the method of relay to the public must he altered if the corporations want to stay in business. The public will only go back to the media if the media begins to provide what they want.

What does the public want, you may ask? A break from the darkness. They are so sick of 'nothing good on the news,' that they are actually totally rejecting it. The media's first response to this downturn was to sensationalize even more! What happened? They lost even more of their audience.

Again, I have to wonder when will the corporations, the media and the even our movie makers attempt to offer up the opposite..

Has anyone seen the 'Mutual Liberty' commercials. (Not the original version.) They hit YouTube and in seconds became a storm in the form of massive viral video. Why?? Because they are awesome. Why? Because they make people feel good. People do not just want that - they are at the point that they need something new - hope.

How about the 'T mobile' ad's... Same thing - Incredible! No lyrics, no blah blah blah, nothing to do with 'in your face' selling of product, bad news, or graphic theme content. No, they offer straight ahead goodness and believe me, they not only get their point across, they are making money... I think people are supporting them in order to say thanks for the break. Who knows, stranger things have happened.

So how about it corporate america - WAKE UP! Would it kill you to provide a little goodness that would benefit us all? Could you even do it? Especially since you are clearly heading down the path of bankruptcy?

Globalization and Integration

Words like “globalization,” “integration,” “interdependence” and “interconnection” are becoming increasingly commonplace. Everyone is getting used to the idea that our world is undergoing a phenomenon called “globalization,” where all people are connected in the integral system that is our world.

But there is something vague about the notions of globalization and integration, something that no one has properly defined. Where did these notions of globalization and integration come from, how exactly do globalization and integration work, and what do globalization and integration have to do with us, here and now? Is “global integration” a fact that’s described in some textbook? Are there official documents attesting to it? Or is it just an indisputable (or dubitable) fact that exists “out there” in the world? Once and for all, would someone tell us: where does this phenomenon, called globalization or global integration, come from?

Integration – The Law of Nature

This is where Kabbalah comes in to give us the answer and the full, complete explanation. Kabbalah – the science that studies the laws of nature on a higher level, says that integration, is a force of nature, just like the force of gravity. The force of globalization (or integration) that is being revealed to us today influences all people just as the force of gravity influences everything on Earth.

In the past, we were unaware of this force, of the tight connections between us, just as we were once oblivious to the force of electromagnetism and thus had no intelligent use for it. Similarly, because the force of our absolute interdependency was not apparent until today, everyone felt free to do anything he or she wished. Today, however, we have discovered this force. We now know how powerful it is, and how dependent and controlled we are by it. Does anyone need better proof of this than the global financial crisis, which keeps rolling over the world in a domino effect again and again, as if trying to ingrain this point deeply into our consciousness?

Global Integration Goes Deeper than Physical Systems.

Yet, this force doesn’t affect just the economies worldwide, which are tightly bound in one network, or the products we depend on to live everyday, which are produced all over the world. Kabbalah explains that it goes much deeper: this force connects the thoughts, desires, and actions of every person with those of everyone else.

In this net, every person influences everyone else, whether or not one knows about it or desires it; and everyone influences that person in return. But most interestingly, this influence does not happen in any way you would normally expect: it takes place through our thoughts and desires. Actions also play a role, albeit a much smaller one.

And for those who are starting to fear that the world is quickly sliding down to chaos (what with entire countries declaring bankruptcy and no one offering promising solutions), Kabbalah has some great news – you can be sure that all is not lost. This science tells us that the force of absolute integration or interconnectednessis not some random occurrence in nature, which might lead things to a state of chaos and leave them there, but it is here for a reason. The force of absolute interdependency is being revealed to us by nature purposefully: in order to make us want unity with others. When we reveal this desire within us and achieve that unity, Kabbalah explains, we will reveal the Higher Intelligent Force behind everything.

Israel's Independence Day:What Is the Jewish Nation?

What really makes the Jewish nation a nation, and what will it take for Israel to finally become independent? The answer to both questions: mutual guarantee...

In honor of sixty-one years of the existence of the State of Israel, let us ask: What are Israelis celebrating, really? One can talk about all the sociological, psychological, economic, and legal reasons for the spontaneous gathering of immigrants from all over the world in one place, and one can say that the day marking the Jewish nation’s establishment is the holiday that gives the Jews validity as a nation, as a people.

But what is it that connects and unites the Jewish nation differently from the immigrants and the sons of immigrants of other countries in the world?

What Is the Jewish Nation?

There is something about being Israeli in Israel that screams, “It’s all about me,” that separates one from everyone else. And yet that same evasive something consolidates Israelis when they are in another country. When abroad, Israelis immediately identify another Israeli, wanting to know where he lived in Israel, what military unit he served in, and if he knows “Zvika.” So what is it that connects – and disconnects – the Jewish nation?

If we look at ancient Kabbalistic texts that talk about the Jewish nation, we will see the concept of the mutual guarantee. One text explains this concept using an example of two men who were sailing in a boat together. One of them began drilling a hole, and his friend asked him, “Why are you drilling this hole?” To which he replied, “What do you care, I am drilling the hole under myself!” The first replied, “Nonsense! After all, we are together in this boat!” Thus, the mutual guarantee, a quality that has historically been present in the Jewish nation, is what makes life possible in a group.

Throughout the history of the Jewish nation, there were periods when its members kept this mutual guarantee – when they were loving to each other, when they rose above their egos, above their personal desires and thoughts. And that is when they became a true nation, because when they unite together, they become a consolidated group.

Today, however, the people of the Jewish nation are victims and perpetuators of an ego that has grown beyond all bounds, causing suffering to them and everyone around them. The history of the young Jewish nation clearly shows that there is no brotherly love between the citizens, and thus, they aren’t a true nation.

A Free Jewish Nation:

When each individual in the Jewish nation attains real freedom – freedom from one’s ego, the ability to go through life with love for his fellow men – then the State of Israel will attain its true independence. The Jews have to catch up to the modern reality and join forces in order to rise above their egos, which separate them. Then each individual in the nation will feel united to the rest, and will contribute to the group that nourishes him.

What is Exile?

You know you are in exile when your stress level is through that roof and you feel pains similar to those of being in labour. This occurs when one feels completely enslaved by his ego... BUT it is also the pressure that is necessary to shift from this life to the Upper Life.

We need to comprehend, as we witness the crisis and troubles pouring down on humanity, that this feeling of universal exile will soon spread throughout the whole world, and that it will be expressed inside each and every person.

At first we will notice it gradually and this is because of the masses that it will cover. It won't matter who or how much one has, the ego will never be satisfied. I think we refer to it as maxing out when the ego comes calling and there is nothing left, in this world, that will appease it. When the desire for pleasure grows to this point, all will experience a horrific dissatisfaction leading to depression and darkness. As this is occurring, individually and depending on one's mental state, the blows to humanity - as a group, will become more qualitative.

However, these blows will not leave us without work or food. On the contrary, they will occur on the mental level. A person will have no means to revitalize himself, and will constantly feel dissatisfied, verging on despair. Although it may seem that these issues are happening on the material level, it will become obvious that the root of the problems are spiritual in nature.

As we look more closely at nature, it's structure, and process, we discover that the whole purpose of creation is to evolve us to the state where we (re) integrate into the structure of the universe and become similar to the Creator. (How exciting - that's NOW!!)

If a desire for spirituality (bestowal, not to be confused with other definitions of “spirituality”) has not yet awakened in a person, he understands everything taking place only through the existence of his physical body: food, family, the state of society, and so on. Thus, he is unable to recognize that these are spiritual problems.

Even if the pleasure a person lacks is spiritual, he is incapable of understanding that this is what he lacks. It is only when something bad happens to him in the corporeal life (usually) that he begins to understand that he feels bad because he lacks spirituality.

This is how egoism gradually develops in us along four stages, where the animate stage gives rise to the spiritual one. This is why the whole world is in a state of an economic crisis.

Why is the crisis specific to the economy, in particular? The fact of the matter is that this is precisely the language that we all understand and it is our current connection to each other! In actuality, it is a lack of Light.

DROWNING in NUMBERS

Headlines around the world are dominated by stories of the financial crisis, but can we possibly understand the numbers that are being tossed around? According to the Asian Development Bank (ADB), approximately fifty trillion dollars has been eliminated from the world finances as a result of the credit crisis. A trillion, for those who are not keen on numbers, is one thousand billion, or fifty million millions, whichever you prefer. To put it into perspective, John Alan Paulos, a professor of mathematics, calculated that if a bank clerk could count five one dollar bills a second, it would take him three hundred and twenty thousand years to count out fifty trillion dollars! Three hundred and twenty thousand years! Can you believe that?

And that means - hold on tight - that last year, sixty-three percent of this entire world's profit disappeared, disintegrated, lost. No one benefited from it, the money was not transferred from one person to another and it didn't reach a small group of rich people. The money just vanished.

Of course, the great financial powers of the world immediately began trying to save the economy from the crazy landslide that was building steam. Still, those initiatives - how should I put it? - do not really make sense. The United States has invested one thousand billion dollars in banks and financial institutions in addition to over one thousand billion dollars to assist the auto industry, students, the unemployed, mortgage holders, etc.

Five hundred billion Euros have been transferred to financial institutions and another fifty billion to the yearly fiscal plan in Germany. England has not fallen behind the Americans and the Germans, as they invested slightly over one hundred billion in financial institutions and in different debentures. Over two hundred and twenty billion dollars disappeared from Russia's treasury in its attempts to recover the ruble and stop fleeing investors. I could go on and on talking about every country in the world, but I think you get the point. If we put it all together, we end up with numbers that our personal calculators simply cannot handle.

But the true question is: Will any of this help the markets? "Leave me alone, I have no idea," would be the most honest answer you might hear from analysts and senior economists. Therefore, all they can do is play with the numbers. However, these numbers are not just numbers. They reflect the devaluation of pensions and savings belonging to people like you and me. The money is disappearing as if it was never earned through the sweat and investment of people who toiled for years. It is coming straight from our taxes.

So what can be done?

First, we need to realize that this world craze and the inability of national leaders to cope indicate the need for a new approach. We now live in a reality where all individuals are inherently connected with each other, and it is not enough to inject sedatives into collapsing systems. What is the point in pouring a fortune into the banks, if they only keep the money to themselves while at the same time throwing former homeowners onto the streets? Neither rigid regulation nor the purchase of additional "toxic property" - two of the suggested solutions provided by the leaders of powerful countries - will be able to reconstruct the devastation of the past few years.

To solve this crisis, we must understand that external regulation will not work in the world's present situation. An inner regulation is necessary, a human one, through the connection between people. That is where this crisis began, and it must be solved similarly, because first and foremost, it is a crisis in relationships. Ordinary citizens do not trust banks, which in turn do not trust companies and private merchants, who do not trust the government, which does not trust its citizens.

In other words, although our world is sufficiently rich to provide for us all, the only asset that is lacking today is the connection among people. In order to pull the world out of crisis, leaders must engage the people. It will not be possible to force a regulatory regime on the markets, just like one cannot keep water in a leaky bucket - even if he tries, the water will leak out through other holes.

While it may not be possible to force a person to limit himself, he can be led to reach his own decision that he would like to take others into consideration. The only regulation that will work is when each person comes to the clear and deep sensation that the entire world depends on him and he is dependent upon all the others. Such a shift in the relationship between people and their surroundings will inevitably create the regulation the finance ministers and leaders are searching for.

So where do we begin?

We have to start by creating an environment which will raise our awareness of the natural laws of living in a world in which we are all interconnected. In order to emerge from the financial crisis, each and every individual must realize that the only way to survive in this new world is by taking the egoistic motivation out of interpersonal relationships. If the media and country leaders explain to everyone that the ego is the true source of the crisis and that life in the Global Age requires our unity and mutual responsibility towards each other, we will begin to witness a shift in the course of the markets.

Imagine the following scenario: I think of others and others think of me. I am completely confident that as long as I do my part, all my needs will be filled by society. The time I used to devote to worrying about survival dissipates. No one in the world lacks anything and everyone relates to each other in love and mutual guarantee, just like a family. Whether we believe it is possible or not, this is the direction in which we are progressing. This is what will solve our money woes.

Recently, it was rumored that Barack Obama might be tempted to enter the bidding for a rare edition of the first ever Superman comic. Although we are now told that the American president will not participate in the auction (he is actually a Spiderman fan), the fact that the rumors started is much more than coincidence.

Superman is the clearest representative of the American dream; he is the ultimate cowboy, the redeeming angel of the new era. Despite the time that has passed since he was last seen flying above Metropolis, and the steady stream of heroes that has flooded the world ever since, there is no doubt that the blue knight in the red cape is still the greatest.

No wonder that people are trying to associate Obama with Superman, as if asking the two to join forces and defeat the escalating crisis. Obama's sweeping inaugural speech before Congress was a perfect proof for that. Actually, it was a classic Superman speech. Superman, as we all know, always "emerges stronger than before" after a crisis. He always finds his peak when everything seems to be lost, and eventually gains the upper hand. He also saves the world from complete catastrophe and gets a round of cheers in the process.

The only problem is that Obama is trying to be Superman in a post-Superman era. An era where there is no place for mythological superheroes, covered with an aura of heroic loneliness. Obama, like the rest of the world leaders, has to understand that the old methods will not help solve this crisis, because reality has changed. Its rules have changed, and we are playing in a completely new game.

Until recently, we have lived in an individualistic world, a world where omnipotent financial opportunists, brilliant and cunning ego-giants controlled the globe, but now the situation has changed. It's like a mysterious and unknown fisherman has caught humanity in one global net, and left it hanging, perplexed and lost. The fat sharks at Wall Street suddenly find themselves tossed into the same boat as the littlest small fry in Istanbul, gasping for relief.

In this new era, the financial system is clearly showing us (and consequently each and every one of us must come to understand) that using others or simply caring only for oneself has become a vengeful, two-edged sword. Instead of being a loyal friend that helps us get ahead, the ego has become a dangerous enemy. And now, the big question is who will save the world from itself?

Regardless of our situation, all the decisions that 'we' make come to us only because the Higher Force puts those thoughts into our subconscious. There is a reason, of course, for everything BUT it is more than likely that we do not understand the reasons for (any given) circumstance. Maybe you ask yourself: 'Why did I suddenly change the route that I originally chose?' Eventually we realize that 'we' did not make the 'decision' in the first place. The 'real' reason is for us to reach and actualize a certain need within and to teach us something.

The point? In general, our experience is part of a general evolution to bring us to the point when we will feel ready to move to the next level.

The question is: 'How open are we to our development?' This is where our choice really lives.

Can You Change Yourself?

The most prosperous countries also yield the highest rates of depression, suicide, and drug addiction. Even when lives are filled with a multitude of material abundance, they despair. Meanwhile there are many others who are content with a minimum of material necessities. Some westerners move to India or other places in the world, hoping to suppress their egoism to a lower level and learn to be satisfied with little.

The smaller the ego is, the easier a person’s life. As a person descends to the animal level of existence, s/he feels better in life. However, the more a person develops, the more the ego increases, and the harder everything becomes. A highly developed level of egoism leads to the most pressing and basic questions about existence, and these questions demand answers. At every given moment (although we don’t realize it) each person chooses his/her own path of development. Humanity’s constant egoistic development forces us to look for the answer to an ambiguous question: “Why do I exist?”

The answer does not lie in tricks, drugs, magic, or in ways to calm ourselves down. The answer can be discovered only by discovering all the worlds and the entire scope in which we exist. Each person’s development will inevitably bring humanity to this final state. In other words, if we don’t connect with Nature’s general system, which controls our world, we will bring ourselves closer to a state that will be worse than death itself. This is why we need to start understanding and discovering this general picture of the world on a level that allows us to remain safe and comfortable.

Megillat Esther

Take this graphic for example, is it an arrow, a simple animation of a house, a collage of triangles or is it double, inverted '7's?' Actually it is all of the above. We perceive what is available to us and receive this data according to the level that we exist in any given moment. An excerpt of our current situation may be illustrated as one person seeing triangles and another seeing an arrow, then a possible disagreement over who is right...

The fact is, our differing perceptions make it pretty tricky, (if not impossible,) to nail down what is real, true or absolute. We have trouble understanding that we do not perceive the whole picture and therefore find it difficult to imagine another outcome. Why? Our ego's run interFEREnce - constantly! If we could somehow trust the bigger picture, remember that we do not see the whole, and even take the time to put ourselves in the shoes of another perception, we'd be on the way to looking out for each other through desire for change and understanding. We currently experience our connection through fear but we are collectively ready for a shift toward a new type of connection. Our efforts may well result in cooperation, and even the beginning of the experience of brotherly love and a (whole) new way of Life.

Take the Purim holiday. We have an apparent story of Haman (the bad guy,) who decides to wipe out the entire Jewish population. The King agrees with Haman and it's on with the realization of the task at hand... Fortunately Mordechai and Esther are available and they do some fancy maneuvering to save the Jews and put Haman and company to death.

Ok great but that's only 1/2 the story! A famous sage, Baal Ha'Sulam, who wrote the commentary to the Book of Zohar, explains the other half of the story clearly. He puts forward that Megillat Esther is about the revelation of the concealed. The characters symbolize important factor's to be considered and understood within the context of our own lives. One thing is apparent: things are not as they seem...

Every day we go out there into the world and subject ourselves to incredible danger. We walk a precarious tight rope, day in - day out: Driving, walking, flying... We are so oblivious to the many, many possibilities of death - every single day. Plus we concern ourselves with the extra responsibility of ensuring the our children's safety. They are even more at risk due to their lack of experience. However, most of the time, we get to bed thank our maker, (or not,) and rest a bit only to get up in a few hours and do it all again.

Lately accidents seem to be on the rise - big ones, have you noticed? I do not think it is just because of the 'small world' effect - where we are made aware of every little thing in every little corner of the world. No, we are definitely witnessing a higher volume of OMG's, lately!

Jet crash(es,) tractor trailer spin outs into oncoming traffic - jumping guard rails and bridges.. Speaking of bridges - bridge collapses in rush hour.. The point?

The point is this: The headlines could read: 'G_d is at it again - saving lives in seemingly exponential and ‘impossible’ situations, showing us who is really in charge.'

Of course the media still does not get it. People are leaving them in droves, no longer watching the news or reading the papers. Why? 'It's depressing...' and they are sick of it! The headlines and the style of reporting is doom and gloom. That was the old guard. Has the media not noticed that people are rejecting this style of reporting? They are losing their readers to the internet where the headlines read: 'Miracle in the Hudson,' or 'Only 35 Injured in Latest Plane Crash...' or 'Trailer Jumps Median in Rush Hour and Only Minor Injuries Incurred!'

This is a slight difference to some, and a major difference to others. This demand for a new direction of information flow is what we call a (much needed) shift in attitude toward ‘the’ situation. So if the media are reading this, take note: People want the positive slant or they are NOT reading / watching - period!

We live in interesting times and many seem aware of this on some level. Things will be what they are BUT truly we are in a position to influence and impact our environment to realize a softener, smoother result of whatever will be... How? It is imperative that we continue to connect with everyone in our “small global village,” electronically and any way we know how. This connection is to recognize that we are absolutely interdependent and to prevent the regression of the world we are leaving - one of separateness where the 'authorities' have control over the masses. A good beginning is to continue the trend of looking at the glass as half full!

gmail Down...

As I began to write about the incredible and inconceivable: 'gmail Down,' my computer became extremely slow forcing my patience to the absolute limit! Then the irony struck me and I actually laughed out loud.

The point was to write about our obvious attachment to technology, the specifics of gmail, it's purpose, and it's effects when it is suddenly not available and we become cut off... As I was trying to write my post I had, in fact, actualized the whole situation. Why? my computer was on holiday! (I’m writing as quickly as possible now in case it goes south again.)

So, here's the point in a nutshell: At the onset of no gmail, we acted as heroin addicts needing a fix. (No, I don't think the analogy is too strong.)

The up side is that is the lack of gmail shows us our deep need for connection. Although it may be a low level of connection - it is a connection and it is real, necessary and appropriate for our time.

I am even encouraged when I think of our collective dependance, and the emerging desire and demand to be together. My hope for this connection goes much beyond electrons... I get excited to think that we could learn to connect without google, gmail, servers, sites etc., and move into a more real connectedness through instinct, intuition and perhaps thought.

What's Wrong with Our Education System?

Attention Parents, I think we need to re think things - a lot! The time has come that we, the parents AND the children should begin learning - together. I have just struggled through the public system with 2 kids and believe me it was torture.

I will try to stay pointed and focused. We obviously have a lot of challenges before us and when it gets down to it the next generation is the only one that really matters. BUT we are raising the next generation which means that we actually ARE them - the next generation that is. This calls for a redefining of the word 'future,' because if we are them that means that now IS the future...

There are seemingly radical differences from when we went to school and now but it is only our outdated attitudes toward the perceived accelerated situation that is slowing our development down.

So, parents we need to get with the program, starting with moving out of the past and moving into right now where we are gravely needed! There are at least 2 area's of attitude that must alter if we can expect to realize any change for our survival.

1. Our current system is coercive and rewards incorrect behavior and attitudes. The first thing that must be taught and properly learned by both parents and children is cooperation. Example: Right now, we have a system that believes that it is not responsible for teaching behavior but it continues to inappropriately address what it claims to not be responsible for. Currently if a child does something that is deemed incorrect that child is forced to say sorry in a hurried way. There is no process allowed, (no time for that!) There is often no feeling of remorse attained by the perpetrator and often the child is actually not sorry for his behavior at all. Why? Sometimes the authorities have the situation wrong, sometimes the child lacks understanding of his actions/words, but mostly he knows the drill and goes along with what is expected of him. (Of course this is dangerous.) This process could be encouraging larger problem whereby the children are not learning cooperation, or how to take any responsibility for their actions/words/thoughts etc., and they become numb. If it continues, the extreme outcome is that they grow into psychopaths. That said we are into our 3rd generation of this way of dealing with 'problems,' meaning that most parents have no idea how to co-operate and some actually teach their children NOT to admit when they are wrong!!! (Double whammy!) If the education system really does not believe it is responsible for behavior they would be better to not coerce the kids into false apology and just allow the children to naturally deal with the issue by their usual way of shunning the child that has acted out. At least then the kid would get it. Or, the school could take responsibility, integrate and teach it properly, and as a priority to both parent and child. This involves a huge shift in attitude toward how things are, and more importantly, the focus on a learning and teaching of reality and what is means to co-operate with each other.

2. Style and content of teaching: We teach the past as historian's or governments want the children to learn it. We diversify the content so incredibly, and at such a young age, that many of the parents are actually doing the work for a good portion of the child's basic learning years. The number of facts in any given brain alone will never add up to intelligence. The current system is set up to pre occupy the brain to the degree that few come out actually feeling the experience of having an original thought. (One that feels like their own because it occurred prior to learning that Plato said it ages ago...) The basics should be stuck with until they are thoroughly understood with the additional teaching of the perception of reality - the actual structure of the universe - the truth. The science community (and many parents not under the spell of society know this.) Why promote the robot memory thing when anyone can do that? To actually teach and to realize learning is a unique combination that begins with mutual cooperation and it mutually and willingly evolves like a form of art. (...Give/Take/Bestow/Receive...) We slow the process down to meet the current, (not so transparent,) agenda's that ensure that we, in fact, do not produce too many free thinkers. This is certainly not in the interest of any generation and it especially is not in the interest of our global economy. This is easily seen by turning on any news station and listening to the current economic forecasts. Why not switch things up and re try some old ways like going back to the style of teaching where the teacher was the master and the student thought he was the master - because the master wanted him to think that... In order words, the OPPOSITE of coercion. The master encourages and comments in a sincere and positive way, producing a child that wants to learn, and moreover wants the approval of the master... If the child acts out he is ignored or worse the teacher sends him out thereby teaching the child that he earns his way to learn for the sake of his teacher. I am speaking of a teacher that is the authority over the student and, a student that has respect for the teacher and wants to rise to his level.

Lastly, where there is intelligence, there is humour. To reintroduce humour to our lives, to education, to our system and society, in general is a (re)start that I am sure will be more than welcomed by the majorities. This shift in curriculum, attitude, and lifestyle is required if we are to succeed as a society and a race.

The Root of the Crisis: Money or Trust?
Let's face it we cannot fix something that's broken with a remedy that did not break it in the first place. In fact we cannot fix anything if we do not know the cause of the breakage. Our current financial crisis was not caused by money and money will not fix the situation.
We need to look at alternative options for a long standing cure, starting with the real cause of the problem - our own agenda's: our need to put ourselves first. What really collapsed anyway, the stock market? Really? A bunch of data that is used to estimate and forecast high end bets for a supposed safe place to invest your money so it will grow quickly? No, actually the markets are not responsible. It is the trust between people that really collapsed.
So where are we? Credit companies don’t believe the insurance companies, which can’t rely on the banks, which were disappointed with the real estate agents, who blame the insurance agents for causing the fall of the Average Joe, who was forced, AS USUAL, to pay for all of this. Nothing really new here. No one taking any responsibility and the little guy is expected to pick up the pieces. Well, not today folks...
Now everyone is watching very closely, stashing their money back where it used to be in the good old days - under the mattress. Maybe the little guy is waking up on the right side of the bed for a change. Maybe he has paid the debt one too many times, or maybe he just cannot physically, emotionally or financially pay it - ever again... Maybe the little guy has lost complete trust in anything that life stood for in the past, or maybe all of the above.
The really funny thing is that there actually is no money, there has not been any for some time and oddly enough it seems that not many have noticed until now. The electronic age was the icing on the cake. It has brought us a system that set us up for radical and spontaneous change. Science has known for a very long time that electrons appear and disappear in seemingly random format. Why would it be any different if we base our entire financial system on it?
It's all good really because now we can finally get on with things. When we think of how our world has become so small, almost overnight, and we add to that the changing technology, sudden crisis' etcetera, we are forced to look at the growing gap between our current technological systems and our attitudes that badly need adjusting to these new ways. This includes redefining what we thought we knew. Take trust for example. We thought trust was broken in our recent experience with our 'trusted' brokers and bankers... The fact is, there never was any real trust there!! Correct - it never actually existed. The perceived trust was brain washed into the little guy and little guy now knows the illusion for what it is - an illusion. This is the real burst of the bubble and the greatness of the opportunity before us.
The situation where everyone was only concerned with personal profits is what brought us to this crisis. So, if real trust doesn’t exist in the world, it’s better to discover it now, before it is really too late. This is only the beginning the real bonus that comes with this crisis is that now we are ready to see the world for what it is: one global boat.
A New System...
Two people were in a boat, and one of them took a drill and began to drill a hole beneath himself. His companion said to him: Why are you doing this? He replied: What concern is it of yours? Am I not drilling under myself? The other replied: But you will flood the boat for us both, and we will both sink!

In the global boat we all share, whoever thinks he can drill a hole under his own seat and ignore the well being of others is gravely mistaken. The brokers and investors who believed that only their clients would be harmed if their gambles failed are now ploughing the deep water along with everyone else. And by everyone I mean everyone, from the Hypo Real Estate Bank in Berlin and the AIG in New York, to the Chai Ling Shiu and Sons shoe store in North Thailand. If one person drowns, everyone drowns right along with him.
Why is it so important for us to understand this? Because we’re living in a new era, a small village. One where trust and mutual consideration require a lot more than conferences, and discussions. These are now the laws of the new reality, a reality where we all depend on one another, for better or for worse. From now on, we have no choice but to work together as one big family. Only then will we be able to navigate our global ship toward the haven of bounty and actual prosperity.
This economy requires people to realize and understand the nature of the crisis. Their new perception on our current situation and the subsequent attitude adjustments will create new socio economic relationships based on co-operation and love. This enables people to feel life.
We have already come to a degree where the whole world is considered one collective and one society. Each person in the world draws his life’s necessities and his livelihood from all the people in the world; hence, he must serve and care for the well-being of the whole world.

Thought has been experimented with and discussed regarding it's possibility and it's potential for well over 50 years. Do our thoughts affect our environment? Is thought, in fact, our environment and is it the only area where free choice exists?

It turns out that the power of our thoughts are precisely how we may influence Nature. (BTW Nature and the Creator are interchangeable.) It is our one and only way to intervene with the grand plan - that is the path of humanity. Of course, it goes both ways and the other side of our influence is met with the same influence we caused and altered.

If all of us together direct our thoughts toward goodness, we will change our fate. Right now everyone puts themselves first. We end up with many individual, random thoughts that are not powerful because we use them against each other... As we know: 'like energy does not attract,' in this case and therefore the thoughts cannot join into one good thought. This is where our choice comes in. We can use individual thought that will realize mutually destructive consequences or we can converge our common, good thought toward a peaceful and natural outcome for Humanity.

In other words, Nature’s (the Creator’s) Plan is not biased. Our development is neutral in and of itself. It’s actually us who improve and accelerate, or, on the contrary, delay and worsen Its influence on us with our desires, thoughts, and intentions. We yield the outcome of our path to complete our predetermined destiny. The 'How' of this direction is in our thoughts. In other words our entire choice lies in choosing which road to take: the short and good path, or the lengthy and evil one.

How Can We Move Forward?

First of all, we need to identify the problem. The fact is we have been in crisis, be it drugs, money, divorce, food, etc., for over 10 years. It's just now that our collective economies are failing that we are even noticing that there are problems.

Gradually we are beginning understand that the cause of our dilemma is rooted in lack of trust between people. As it becomes more and more difficult to hide anything from anyone or institution we suddenly feel naked and afraid. Why? Because we have lost our anonymity, we trust no one, and we have not experienced life differently than this before.

If we are willingly expose our agendas, drop everything that is useless, extra or redundant, and open our eyes. If we want a peaceful path we will start treating one another by the laws of “a small village.” At first it will feel awkward but only until we become use to it. We are human and very adaptable don't forget. Once we understand that this simple beginning is our salvation, as a race and otherwise, we will adapt quickly and it will become natural.

A Look at Our Transition: Harsh or Smooth?

Recent protests around the globe display just how upset people are with the values of today's public opinion. There is a growing thought that by changing the values in public opinion through education, and media, we can explore an alternative option for a peaceful path of development.

The recent violent protests in Athens, Greece, raised a scenario that is proving to be developing into a more common situation whereby the police shooting of a teenager sparked mass protests costing over a billion dollars in damages.

What started in Athens spread quickly all over the country and then spilled into to other parts of Europe. The media has taken the approach that these protests are serving to speak for the people's deep-seated anger which is intensified by the financial crisis, the resulting massive layoffs, and a general fear of the future.

Apparently the European protests were right on queue. The International Security Report 2008, called 'The Tipping Point,' released by Oxford Research Group and published in November 2008, right before the protests, warns of worldwide, violent protests. It states, "The global economic downturn is the biggest single threat to security across the world. On present trends many hundreds of millions of people among the poorest communities across the world will suffer most. This is likely to lead to the rise of radical and violent social movements, which will be controlled by force, further increasing the violence."

G R E A T.............. So we are forecasted to all die violent deaths at the hands of our governments on a global scale?

I don't buy it! There is a different way. The goal is the goal, or the result is the result BUT the way to the destination is our choice. Even though we, the masses, have largely been sculpted to believe that we have no choice - it is not necessarily so. The alternate way to the destination will become more and more available and clear as we begin to understand the real reason for the financial crisis which is pushing many to the brink of violence. This has been necessary in order for us to begin to look at our situation correctly, and give us an opportunity to address it peacefully.

So why are we here, and what is the purpose of this global fiasco? It is simple. The changes that the world has undergone have occurred much faster than our ability to change and adapt. In the last century our world has gone from very, very large to a small village. We drive, fly and virtually connect anywhere, anytime. Meantime, our attitudes and ways of thinking have not come close to evolving as fast. So we find ourselves unable to keep up and develop new ways that will work in our current situation. In other words our old attitudes have no place and just do not work in our new, small village. To give and example imagine this. Previously, when someone lived in a small village they were nice to their neighbour. If not, they would be shunned. In a city, someone may act like a jerk and think that it did not matter because they would not see the person again. Now, we are required to choose and adapt the small village, be nice to our neighbour, policy if we want to develop peacefully. This is a place to start.

We have become interconnected and interdependent in such a way that not only our actions but also our thoughts and desires now determine the fate of others worldwide. We have become one body, one family whose members cannot afford to ignore the close connections between them. It is as if we are connected to each other by invisible threads, where our inability to see them doesn't change the fact that they're there.

All of us know about the DNA inside that is included in our bodies. It contains genetic information regarding our biological development. This instructional data gives orders to our bodies about how to develop and when.

Kabbalah says we have more than just physical DNA inside us. We also have spiritual DNA, called Reshimo. It operates just like the physical DNA in that the Reshimo can be described as a spiral of information that gradually unravels, causing us to change and develop at every single moment.

This is how it works: every new moment for us is a new Reshimo that surfaces within us. As soon as it does, we suddenly feel different from the previous moment, see different things around us, and experience the phenomenon of time going by!

Kabbalah explains that the Reshimo has a purpose. It directs our spiritual development toward a single goal: to connect to the force that binds all parts of Creation, to the Creator. This means that eventually we will reach a state where we will feel and understand the very force that sustains our existence and that, in fact, created us. Kabbalah explains that our goal is to reach adhesion with the Creator. Throughout the generations, and from one year to the next, it’s not only our technology, culture and science that develop. We also develop internally or spiritually. It’s our spiritual development that induces all our corporeal innovations and achievements.

As described above, the unraveling of the Reshimo makes us constantly find ourselves in new states of development, both personally and globally. We begin wanting higher living standards than before, better technology, a more refined culture, and so on. Kabbalah explains that this is happening because behind the scenes, the Reshimo ceaselessly propels our desires to grow, and that is why we constantly want new things. Hence, precisely our spiritual development has brought about our external progress.

Kabbalah explains that the Creator created us along with the Reshimo that guides our development, so that we will eventually reach His state. The interesting thing is that the only thing that changes and develops is us, while the force called Creator remains unchanging - in a state of complete perfection. Therefore, somewhat ironically, the purpose of all our movement and development is to reach that same perfect state of absolute rest as the Creator is in. This is where our spiritual genes are leading us.

A world in which the sum of each part becomes equal to the other - adds up to the same exact measure? How can we do this? By taking these actions ourselves: putting Humanity in an equal state, (or higher,) to ourselves, by not judging, blaming or making others wrong for anything... This equality of properties will permit our joining, our Unity. By realizing all of this, we actualize Oneness (like energy attracts,) and become equal, under One Authority! This is what the Rabash is talking about: A true joining. Why do we want this? Because we are not making it individually and this is clear to the majority at this time in our existence.

It is written: “You stand today, all of you, before the Lord your God: your heads, your tribes, your elders, your officers, and every man of Israel.” It begins in plural: “all of you” and finishes in singular “every man of Israel”. The fact that he speaks in plural and in singular, hints at the love of friends. Even though they have among them “heads, tribes, etc”, every one does not see himself above anyone else in Israel, and they are all equal, since no one blames the other. Therefore, they get the same treatment from above, measure against measure.

...Humanity - What are we missing?

Actually we are not missing anything at all. We are, however, coming at life in a way that is not only incorrect and incomplete, but we have maxed out with regard to our process, our approach and our ability to reach our goals!!!

So far humanity has moved forward by their animal instincts, and egoism. Many people accept egoism as 'human nature,' and they feel there is nothing that can be done about it... (This is the incorrect part.) Egoism is where we live, it's what we know, and it is a 1/2 truth. It is the self serving, (so far) easy to justify, but not longer working.

If we look around there has been crisis for years: Drugs, Divorce, Alienation from Society, and now Financial Crisis. This is the tip of the iceberg. Egoism has grown to the point of no return. That means, it must shift to something new. We are seeing how we are connected to each other on a global scale. The world is getting smaller. Money and internet were of the last pieces to bring our egoism and realization of our connection, together in one final point... Egoism has peaked and we are literally not safe from ourselves.

Now what? Now, we must learn the other half of human nature. The only real Law of the Universe - the Law of Love. It is time.

The big question - how? How can this be done? Actually the first step is that we must want to unite. It is actually not necessary to like each other, the work is realized in the Heart. This transformation away from the broken tool of ego, towards the Law of Love, is necessary to prevent further catastrophes. The really great news is that from what I'm hearing, people are sick and tired of the old way. The true greed has taken too much and now there is hardly a middle class left. This is our great opportunity to live in the way that we were meant to live and not in slavery of the rich!

Lee Iacocca on: 'Where Have All The Leaders Gone?'

I had to post this! Lee Iacocca has released a new book called: 'Where Have All the Leaders Gone?' The following is his commentary describing his motivation for writing it. As he mentions, it is a Call to Action. He is writing to every American and I believe many more.

'Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder!
We've got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car.

But instead of getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians say, 'Stay the course.' Stay the course? You've got to be kidding. This is America, not the damned, 'Titanic'. I'll give you a sound bite: 'Throw all the bums out!'

You might think I'm getting senile, that I've gone off my rocker, and maybe I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country anymore. The most famous business leaders are not the innovators but the guys in handcuffs. While we're fiddling in Iraq , the Middle East is burning and nobody seems to know what to do. And the press is waving 'pom-poms' instead of asking hard questions. That's not the promise of the 'America' my parents and yours traveled across the ocean for. I've had enough. How about you?

I'll go a step further. You can't call yourself a patriot if you're not outraged. This is a fight I'm ready and willing to have. The Biggest 'C' is Crisis! (Iacocca elaborates on nine C's of leadership, with crisis being the first.) Leaders are made, not born. Leadership is forged in times of crisis. It's easy to sit there with your feet up on the desk and talk theory. Or send someone else's kids off to war when you've never seen a battlefield yourself. It's another thing to lead when your world comes tumbling down. On September 11, 2001, we needed a strong leader more than any other time in our history. We needed a steady hand to guide us out of the ashes. A hell of a mess, so here's where we stand.

We're immersed in a bloody war with no plan for winning and no plan for leaving. We're running the biggest deficit in the history of the country. We're losing the manufacturing edge to Asia, while our once-great companies are getting slaughtered by health care costs. Gas prices are skyrocketing, and nobody in power has a coherent energy policy. Our schools are in trouble.

Our borders are like sieves.

The middle class is being squeezed every which way.

These are times that cry out for leadership. But when you look around, you've got to ask: 'Where have all the leaders gone?' Where are the curious, creative communicators?

Where are the people of character, courage, conviction, omnipotence, and common sense? I may be a sucker for alliteration, but I think you get the point.

Name me a leader who has a better idea for homeland security than making us take off our shoes in airports and throw away our shampoo?

We've spent billions of dollars building a huge new bureaucracy, and all we know how to do is react to things that have already happened.

Name me one leader who emerged from the crisis of Hurricane Katrina. Congress has yet to spend a single day evaluating the response to the hurricane or demanding accountability for the decisions that were made in the crucial hours after the storm.

Everyone's hunkering down, fingers crossed, hoping it doesn't happen again. Now, that's just crazy. Storms happen. Deal with it. Make a plan. Figure out what you're going to do the next time. Name me an industry leader who is thinking creatively about how we can restore our competitive edge in manufacturing. Who would have believed that there could ever be a time when 'The Big Three' referred to Japanese car companies? How did this happen, and more important, what are we going to do about it?

Name me a government leader who can articulate a plan for paying down the debit, or solving the energy crisis, or managing the health care problem. The silence is deafening. But these are the crises that are eating away at our country and milking the middle class dry.

I have news for the gang in Congress. We didn't elect you to sit on your asses and do nothing and remain silent while our democracy is being hijacked and our greatness is being replaced with mediocrity. What is everybody so afraid of? That some bonehead on Fox News will call them a name? Give me a break. Why don't you guys show some spine for a change?

Had Enough? Hey, I'm not trying to be the voice of gloom and doom here. I'm trying to light a fire. I'm speaking out because I have hope -
I believe in America. In my lifetime, I've had the privilege of living through some of America 's greatest moments. I've also xperienced some of our worst crises: The 'Great Depression,' 'World War II,' the 'Korean War,' the 'Kennedy Assassination,' the 'Vietnam War,' the 1970's oil crisis, and the struggles of recent years culminating with 9/11.

If I've learned one thing, it's this: 'You don't get anywhere by standing on the sidelines waiting for somebody else to take action. Whether it's building a better car or building a better future for our children, we all have a role to play. That's the challenge I'm raising in this book. It's a "Call to Action" for people who, like me, believe in America'. It's not too late, but it's getting pretty close. So let's shake off the crap and go to work. Let's tell 'em all we've had 'enough.'

I love this post from Laitman's Blog. It is the next step for humankind, to become Humankind! The really exciting part is the proof of our connection between us, albeit warped, it is there for all to see.
